This spill sort of reminds be of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill. I have been researching the Exxon Valdez for an English project. I learned that the Exxon Valdez spilled 11 million gallons of crude oil in Blight Reef, Prince William Sound. I also learned that the captain of the Exxon Valdez was drunk and alcohol was found in his blood hours after the accident. The Exxon Valdez was traveling miles off track and this is why they were hit. The Exxon Valdez is one of the worst oil spills recorded in the United States! It is still effecting fisheries to this day. This oil spill happened in the year of 1989.

Who...two miles! That is quite a lot. All those birds...it's so sad.

Oh, and thanks so much Megan, for commenting with so many facts on an oil spill and taking a lot of time into the research! That was so nice of you!

That was very sad. I think that they should have been more careful with their oil and then they would not have intoxicated 2 miles of ocean and killing tons of birds and sea creatures. On top of that, they provided a risk of having a rare eagle trying to eat the birds, choking, and dying. Good news oil spills are not common, or else most of the worlds marine wildlife and birds will be extinct. At least it was not as bad as Exxon Valdez which still has an effect on the environment even now.

This shows how much oils spills can effect the wildlife around it. Small organisms take in the oil and birds can eat these organisms or get caught in the oil. Bigger birds try to eat the small birds and also get sick.

We can't believe that this is killing so much of the environment. Jadon did research on the exxon valdez, this catastrophe happens all the time but now double-hulled tankers will lessen the chances of more oil spills throughout the world! Hopefully the oil spill won't effect the environment in later times.
