This is a very interesting animal and although it has features unique to many different species, I think that it evolved them seperately to fit it's environment and needs.

I think is interesting, I think that when most people think about the platypus, they think of a beaver and a duck, it was cool to learn that there was a reptilian part to this mammal that would explain why Perry the platypus is green. i never understood that. I also found at that there was another egg laying mammal I thought there was only one.

This article was very interesting to read, and it's funny to know how they didn't even think the platypus was real! Scientists think that these awkward creatures are a mixture of a duck and a beaver, and is a mammal THAT LAYS EGGS! It doesn't have nipples to give milk to their young...they lap milk from the grooves of their mother's belly. It's a very interesting creature for sure!

The platypus is so so super duper weird! they have poison? I didn't know that! I thought that platypus' were cute but not any more. I don't want to get close to them. Though it is weird it is also interesting because they lay eggs, and that they have a reptilian part to them. I as well as Gwen didn't know that there was another animal that lay eggs but know I know that the platypus and the lay echidnas eggs. Simply I am trying to say that dangerous or not platypus' rock!

I don't think they should be considered mammals. They have mammal and bird features, and some that are unique to them, so they should be considered a mix of many types of animals.
