Ms. Ghazarian, this post does not work. Whenever I click on the link it goes to "getting the dirt on carbon" and not "calculating crime".

I think its really cool that by using software you can solve mysteries. There is a TV show called Numbers where they solve crimes using math

It's interesting that there are certain pieces of information about certain places in a city. Maybe that should be included in a book called "crime-solving for dummies".

That's pretty cool how they use software to solve crime. I didn't know that people always thought the criminal nearby somewhere.

Although this is very cool, I think that the article needs more.It left me with a lot of questions regarding the open ended post.

That's cool that there are so many ways and processes to find criminals. But this article needs more info. Ididn't quite get it that much. I see that some other kids who posted on this article also didn't understand it completely.

This was really interesting because they can sort of digitally superimpose records on top of themselves to find out various criminal's ways. I wonder if these will be able to help with a big crime, or if it just covers small robberies that happen?

I thought this article was really interesting. I agree with Arjun that i never thought that the crime would by near where the person lives. Wouldn't they want to do the crime somewhere far from their house if they knew other people thought that? I agree with Megan that the article wasn't very complete. They should have put more information or maybe an example or two. Once, when I lived at my old house some guy came to the front door and tried to break in. I know it's easier to get around in your own neighborhood, but still if the criminals knew that people thought this they could learn about another neighborhood and stalk the people to see how they would do there. That way they wouldn't be doing what people expect. Even though, it says the younger ones don't usually go out of the neighborhood they go out even less. They should at least go out most of the time.

P.S. Ryan: try clicking on getting the dirt on carbon and see if you get calculating crime.
