This new dinosaur was very interesting. Because of it's diminutive size, feathers, and bird-like hindquarters, this could be the connection between birds and dinosaurs!
It's AWESOME that a dinosaur on the wrong side of the family tree has feathers. Evolution must have created feathers to adapt to they're environment. It also cool that they found a relative of the raptor that was 4.2 pounds, 20 pounds lighter than the raptor.
I believe that this new species is really interesting because you always hear about the big dinosaur bone find, and the big scaly monsters in movies. But these Canadian Scientists found a small feathered dinosaurs.
COOL! CHICKEN DINO! This just proves even more how chickens are related to dinosaurs. I agree with Michael; the big scaly dinosaurs are overrated. They've been analyzed over and over again. It's time for some pint-sized dinos! I also agree with Parsa in the fact that the feathered ornithischian dino was on the other side of the family tree. Yay chicken-dino!
I agree with Parsa that it must of adapted, but, why would they have feathers and no wings? But I love how they look. The colors make them look so incredible, and the feathers are just awesome. They would make a cool neopet. Here's something to ponder is big Bird related to these guys?
As Nathan said, this is the connection from dinosaurs to birds. We saw a document on this about another/the same feathered dinosaur the size of a chicken and it had wings on its back legs and its feet. This could be the same dinosaur in this article but in more detail. We also agree with Michael, that dinosaurs are portrayed as big, scary monsters, but this shows there are small dinosaurs, too!
Wow, again, nature is so cool! every day, scientists are finding new species of past, and now living animals. this story relates to the fish blog. When i was little, i played a computer game about jurassic park and in the game, there was a dinosaur that was a kind of raptor. at the time, the raptor was the smallest known dinosaur.
I cannot believe that a bird feather that I picked up on the ground could have evolved from dinosaurs. That seems amazing to me! Dinosaurs have been a mystery for so long, but not scientists and paleontologists theorize that they could have evolved into animals that we see everyday. I read in an article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feathered_dinosaurs) that there are fossils found with "dinofuzz" fossilized on them. That is very interesting because the feathers are like bird feathers!
Whoa, I didn't know that some dinosaurs were as small as just a mere chicken! I eat chicken almost every day so I know how small this really is. It's tiny! When I think of a dinosaur I don't think of a chicken! I think of a huge beasts that is like the size of a three story house! I can't imagine this being a meat eater because every thing living back then was probably more than twice its size! It just seems impossible for it to eat anything. It would be the one to get eaten!
